Don’t worry. They are still partnered with that taser and body armor making company I can’t remember that name of. Flok will probably just pull from them which pulls from Ring, so they’ll get the data somehow.

Probably. Ring is pretty plain in saying that they cancelled it because it took "more time and resources than anticipated. " Not because it was the wrong idea. And yeah, it’s a carefully coded message that they want consumers to read as “We heard you, we listened, and we won’t do shitty things like that again.” But in reality, it says the opposite. It says they stopped because it costs too much, but they remain committed to the idea. No doubt some of the additional resources were dealing with the flap around the Superbowl ad and the public douchebaggery of the Flock CEO.

The fact that the cancelled in the face of public pressure means nothing; they can always resume the partnership once the pressure subsides.

A new company will pop up to replace Flock. Amazon will gladly work with them next, assuming Flock doesn’t go under. Do not be fooled, Jeff Bozo is an evil man

He’s still the largest shareholder at about 10% tho. There’s some sway with that and I’m sure some indirect control but I totally agree. Fuck Andy jassi AND Uncle Jeff

I’m well aware he’s not CEO but… come on. He set up the company, the dynamics, etc. Amazon is still all about doing everything they can to break up unions, he still gets most of his wealth from Amazon, Amazon will still give up Ring camera data to police departments, etc etc. COME ON.

Ok. That’s a bit like blaming bill gates for windows 11. There’s people in place now that could make a change but choose not to. I don’t see how they aren’t more directly guilty for current evils. Seems more like convenient scape gloating to just blame everything all on the same person especially when that person is no longer making those calls.

The people in charge of these companies are absolutely at fault for being greedy and evil but these companies have ALWAYS been evil and greedy at their inception. Which is why I bring up Bezos. He was cut throat in the way he started and managed his company, same with Gates, same with xyz. You don’t amass the amount of influence that Amazon and Microsoft achieved without a lot of backdoor deals and cutthroat tactics. You cannot divorce what these companies are from where they started and HOW they got to this point. History is important to look back on.

I’m not absolving anyone of anything, they all fucking suck. AND ALSO if you think that Jeff Bezos doesn’t have a hand in his own company anymore, come on now! Once again, he’s a billionaire! We can’t keep being this naive about what these assholes are saying in private conversations outside of the eyes of the public. Bezos is in the Epstein files for crying out loud!
