Summary: Humans have a “hidden” sensory relationship with the environment that bypasses conscious hearing. A new study reveals that infrasound, sound waves below 20 Hertz (Hz), can physically alter our bodies without our knowledge.

Even brief exposure to these low-frequency vibrations, which are common near traffic, industrial machinery, and aging ventilation systems, significantly raises cortisol levels and increases feelings of irritability and sadness. These findings provide a scientific explanation for “haunted” feelings in old buildings and suggest that invisible noise pollution may be a silent driver of chronic stress. [Source - 2026)]

And if a study released in the last couple of months is too recent, here’s another from 2021

Exposure to high levels of infrasound (more than 100 dBz) interferes with cardiac muscle contractile ability, as early as one hour after exposure. There are numerous additional studies which support this conclusion. These results should be taken into account when considering environmental regulations.

ah, well fair enough. though getting any headway on this problem is going to be harder then muting an airport. data centers get anything they want in the end
