I’ve been seeing this for a couple weeks now along with a popup telling me “ad blockers aren’t allowed” at work where I’m forced to use Chrome. I have UBlock Lite installed. Typically a refresh takes care of the popup and a 10 second delay later, the video loads.
This is one change (which isn’t the cause of OP’s problem) that they announced months ago. I’ve been using it for well over a decade and while I have had major issues with it in the past going so far as to setup Emby and buying a lifetime license for that, I would hardly say that they’re “constantly changing allowed abilities.”
Most people’s issue with them is that they focus too much on adding new stuff that nobody asked for while ignoring longtime bugs. I can’t recall a time they’ve ever locked anything behind a paywall that wasn’t a brand new feature prior to this.
Worse than that, he’s hosting $1M a plate dinners for “access” and attendees get things like pardons for their family members or government approval of business deals after paying these bribes.
OP has a misconfigured server and isn’t connecting to their server over LAN.
Another article tracked down the phone and it’s just a Tmobile REVVL in a different case. They pointed out that you can buy one for $169 while Trump is selling his for $500-$600.
Why not 3D print something for it? I printed this to make a digital photo frame with a Pi 4 and the official 7" Pi touch display. https://www.printables.com/model/44218-7-touchscreen-case-for-raspberry-pi-4-internal-fan
Printing it with something strong should help keep it safe in an accident though you’ll need to create a mounting solution.
I’d argue it’s closer to hand made than manufacturing due to most people only having the ability to crank out small batches of prints as a side hustle. I still think it’s short sighted and wonder why other CNC devices aren’t also being banned like CNC routers, laser cutters, laser engravers, pen plotters, etc since these all use similar designs and mechanical systems. Where do you draw the line? I can understand only wanting hand made or vintage items but if technology is advancing past that and the market isn’t really there for those items, then what’s the purpose of the site? What are they going to tell both buyers and sellers that they’re not the type of clientele they want on their platform? That seems nuts as a business.
Interesting that just blasting metal with high speed metal particles actually offers structural support back to the metal. I wonder how the strength compared to a new piece of metal of the same thickness.
I’ve been getting them over the last week or so on both Chrome at work (Ublock lite) and Firefox at home (UBlock Origin). It’s just a popup telling me adblockers aren’t allowed and then a second smaller popup saying something to the effect of “loading issues?” with a link as the video delays playing for a few seconds.
I wound up switching them from “automatic” to “live view” and now they display live images which seems better than snapshots updating every few minutes.
I’m not sure if it was an artifact from my previous configuration as Frigate added all new entities for the cameras, unless you mean some sort of bug with needing to wipe the whole card and start fresh rather than just swapping the entity IDs from Dahua to Frigate while retaining the same card.
I have a hard time putting faith in their promise that it won’t affect anyone poorly. They’re just handwaving criticism away with statements that make this AI seem like magic with zero explanation of actual details.
That doesn’t really answer the question and also introduces issues with situations like Bambu’s Creator’s Program (or whatever it’s called) where you can pay the model creator for the rights to sell the item. I don’t see why they need to target 3D prints specifically when Etsy is absolutely chock full of similar duplicates in other mediums. They’re just going to drive people away to a new site, which is fine I suppose, but seems incredibly short sighted.
I went through the exact same situation with my 20 year old music collection and MusicBrainz Picard and unfortunately this is just the state of music piracy even now as things are rarely tagged correctly or come from compilation albums, sample albums, or are just obscure and don’t have the proper tags available on the service. This is why I don’t mind paying for music streaming even though I selfhost most other media formats because you can put in days of work tagging songs and still have a jumbled mess at the end (Picard’s tagging template is also a huge PITA to use with some obscure legacy language).
How do you prove you’re the creator of a model without directly handing your IP over to this company?
Yeah there are a lot of reddit-esque comments here acting like they’re too smart to be fooled by that.
You might look into Portainer. It gives you a nice GUI to manage docker-compose files, create stacks, edit and update, etc. On my Proxmox server, I have two LXCs set up that run almost all my services like immich, frigate, radarr/sonarr, VPN, qbittorrent, homarr, etc You’ll probably find docker compose much easier to understand than plain docker especially considering there are a million templates out there that you can mostly copy and paste.
I honestly think it’s more of a gimmick than anything because no two identical printers will run exactly the same and there’s no way for it to accurately account for filament issues like poor quality plastic or moisture content. I can’t see it being any more accurate than basic guidance or real general things to watch out for like printing overhangs without supports.
My Bambu X1C will do both of these and tell you when it’s time to lube the Z axis screws for example, but I think all printers will shut down if the thermistor (what measures the heat) is reading incorrectly due to it being bad or a problem with the extruder heater since not doing so could be catastrophic rather than just giving you a shitty quality print.
Use an antenna and a HDHomeRun. I can watch our local channels directly through Plex.
