I would personally like to just go back to calling it installing, but I doubt that is even less likely than getting back “-lications” to my programs (just a dumb joke about how applications slowly became apps).

Been using them for a hot minute, been rocking one flavor of the Linux kernel on my phone since the release of the Motorola Droid back in like 2009-2010.
I’ve had the play store install, remove, and modify installed applications without so much as a hint they were doing it, the “Play Store” does what would be considered “sideloading” applications (i. e. a third party app managing your applications from a location other than the package manager), feeding an apk to a package manager would just be “installing” an application like it always has been.
By co-opting the term to be something bad, they are trying to make it seem like they are the only safe source for applications (even though the Google-managed stores have just as much malware as WinMX did 20+ years ago).
I’ll stick with my pfsense… Just rebuilt it yesterday to upgrade it a bit.
I’m so glad I don’t ‘sideload’ anything, never learned how. I have been installing software since the 90s though and it’s pretty much the same as always.
Joke aside, it really seems more like ‘sideloading’ when you go to a store, to ask it to install something on your phone instead of just installing it directly on the device.
I haven’t used it in the past few months, I’ll definitely give it another try though.
Edit: Oh, yeah this is a bit different. I like the new prompt asking if it’s extended or desktop. I will definitely have to play with it a bit more, I had tossed it to the back of my brain as a ‘well it exists’ feature.
It works okay, but not great for me. I toss my phone on one of my old laptops docking station at work, but some apps like to force a shit resolution. It is pretty neat having them in moveable windows though.
I’m sure a successor will come around when room forms for them, I don’t know of a reason any of the core *arr stack should need one. If you know of one don’t hesitate to share, I’m just not really aware of any, they are awesome to me.
When I realized they paywalled OIDC I had to look elsewhere.

What distro are you guys using to get errors like that? I’ve been a Debian guy as long as I can remember and was so happy when I gave up using Windows for games. Windows doesn’t seem to scale worth a shit, I have two twenty-seven inch monitors and one twenty-four inch monitor flipped portrait (it feels wrong but is so great for documentation); when I move a window halfway between two different size monitors the window is all fucked up, on Debian it is the same physical size across the displays and doesn’t look like someone is trying to zoom in on half of it.
All that being said, my son’s computer is close (he runs Arch… btw), but not perfect… I don’t know if that’s an Arch thing or he just doesn’t care about it as much as I do.
I was too lazy and immich-go may not have existed when I migrated but I just selected and downloaded my pictures from Google Photos then just uploaded them to Immich and they seemed to keep all their metadata.
I absolutely loved the release of LMDE, it’s just what I like though, the simple intuitive interface of Mint, without dealing with Canonical’s bullshit (really sour about snaps, ignore me lol).

I could, but then I would have issues getting to it from work; from the bit I’ve read about mTLS, it’s not really indended for my use case, I think I’ll just stick with TLS.
I keep mine accessible from the internet, its just more useful to me like that. I do have registration disabled though and SSO is handled by Authentik so it could be worse (my personal goal has just been to not be the easiest target, perfect security is a myth in my mind).
Agreed! I stayed with Plex for a long time because Jellyfin had a rough time with live TV (antenna) and I already had a PlexPass because of a sale a long time ago. Now Plex is only still running because I love Plexamp.

The setup wasn’t too bad but I did bang my head against the wall a little. The docs on your site have an incomplete callback uri (it’s missing the /auth/ part of the URL) and I didn’t notice at first (its right in your example env on github though). My only real complaint is I can’t seem to find a way to disable external signups but still allow OIDC auto provisioning.
All in all though, this is great and I can’t wait to use it more.
I know, I’m a huge fan of Mint, but only the Debian edition as Canonical keeps going in a direction I will not follow happily. It isn’t just that snap sucks in my opinion, its that they decided to replace apt-installed packages with snaps and it feels like a slippery slope that could lead to issues.
Judging by the two Outlooks installed on my cooperate machine I’m guessing Outlook and Outlook (classic) are the two installed… Though they could have “Outlook for Windows” installed too as I see it offering it to me via the Windows store.
