Well they started out as something to literally get around the pits on, got out of hand and now they are just small cheap bikes for fun and racing. I can fold the bars down on my Dax with no tools and sling in the back of my car one handed
The 305 came out just before the blackbomber, I mentioned the gearbox because the 450’s gearbox is way nicer, apart from some 1-2 cruchy changes it could pass for a modern bikes change any day.it was better then my old 94 cbr600 thats for sure.
He doesn’t nick mine because mine are all crap!
This one is restored, we a have a 305 that’s a real survior, rode that a few years ago, horrible gearbox!
Cb450 blackbomber, lots of firsts for honda, 100mph, dohc, torsion valve springs, 1965.
It’s restored, my dad loves this era of hondas, we have quite a few, another 450 is in the works, hopefully this time a 5 speed. Had a fun time barreling along back roads
I didn’t get murdered, I came home bearing a galaxy ice-cream.
Nice upgrade :)
That sucks, how fast were you going? seems really unfortunate that you broke bones on a smallish crusier.
Two fingers on both, but four fingers on the clutch when I’m stopped at traffic lights.
You mentioned kicking the shifter, it should never be that hard to shift, apply a little presure up on the shift lever, dip the throttle to ease the pressure on the gears while pulling a little harder on the shift lever, it should slip into the next gear like butter.
You don’t like the smell of burnt oil?
One of those bikes that deserve more love, but seem to be collectively forgotten
