We use Chrome in any number of different costumes, or we tiptoe sites that deliberately break when using Firefox.

Flutter? No thanks

I wouldn’t consider it so. Imo it has a different intended use case.
Similar to a a VPN’s server, if a TOR exit node is compromised, so is your traffic.
However, TOR is significantly slower than just torrenting over a VPN. It speed loss could make a 15min download take 6-8hours. For a movie that could be a few gbs in size it would take even longer.

I got started in high school, broke high school me shucked drives from used computers.
A lot of people throw away perfectly good computers. Or sell them for very cheap because they take up space.
Those reject computers, if you find the right one, could have 500gb-2gb ssds in them that are perfect for media server usage.

So they can sell them for even more thanks to scarcity I’m guessing.

That’s incorrect. Google’s Android has several industry leading security features the iPhone doesn’t support.

Android also has lockdown mode.
Also Bezos has nothing to do with Android aside from their tablets.

Is this one fully open source? Or is it still “well open source when we can”?
Fedora, simple, consistent, versatile, up to date.

I understand TikTok to be the bastion of communication and community for Gen Z.
But so much of the content is uncreative. The same songs and sound effects to some stupid reaction video.
That said, I do hope TikTok crashes and burns so the new owner loses on their bid. And I do really hope Gen Z can collectively find a new platform to communicate on freely because TikTok has been a force for them just as Twitter and Reddit was for Millenials.

I realize my tone could be misinterpreted, my intention was to support your comment on the new model and how it can look like a step backward compared to previous models.
My intention was not to refute your comment. :)

They literally had the small bezel and the camers on top in a previous XPS model.

I got my XPS 9360 because it came with Linux preinstalled.
Dell is pretty friendly to Linux and even uses LVFS. I would assume theyre maintaining that in the new models but hey techs been doing stupid things since covid so who knows.

Some Android phones do it too!

Nvidia preparing sell sloppy seconds to consumers

I haven’t made any purchases since tariffs drove up prices.
I was prepping to build a new NAS in 2026.
Not anymore sellouts.

Realtime subtitles is a value ad for the user. That’s totally fine.
Copilot scanning my activity and recommending me shows serves the company, get that off of TVs.
I’ll always use a plugin streamer.

You can read the Dockerfile for the HEALTHCHECK clause however not all have it as it’s been introduced in later docker versions.
You can also write your own using things like curl.

I think it’s nice they offer their own lite version.
Just because there is a more popular OSS solution doesn’t mean they should be complacent and accept people will use Vaultwarden.
This shows they support their users directly instead of just letting their users fend for themselves.
They also could indirectly be blamed by some people using vaultwarden should an issue arise with it.
By publishing the first party lite version they can say “well you’re not using our supported version”. While still being friendly to self-hosters.
I wanted more Dropbox space. Self hosted Nextcloud when Docker became a thing.
Ended up getting a job in tech as I got better with containerization and better at programming from scripting and reading Data Structures books
