Important: you do not need to have an account on a peertube instance. You can follow from nearly (iirc) any fedi instance. I have successfully done so from mastodon and I have heard lemmy should work, not sure though. You just copy the address of the channel you want to follow from the browser and paste it in your search bar on mastodon.

The discoverability is incredibly bad. Peertube has a ton of videos and more servers than lemmy by a long shot iirc. The problem is that the „frontend“ has seen no love like ever. There recently came an app which is nice but otherwise, its very underloved.

Feel free to voice your concerns in !peertube@lemmy.ml for example. The devs should be available through the fedi somewhere.

I think the idea in itself is good. Imagining an instance where a whole lot of reddit communities mirror just for safekeeping. Using this will likely get you banned from reddit in 10 seconds though. It is a very powerful way of stripping reddits walled garden so they will fight it tooth and nail. What we need is legislation to protect something like this.

Exclusively independent media (404 and newly the taz in germany). Besides that bush drums of the fedi (mastodon and lemmy, memes).

Tbh I feel a little queasy about the change of tone but thats how it goes with influx of people. I‘ll keep my strict anti tech bro stance and will rapidly block any bigots as I always have. People can of course say and do what they please here and I‘m not gonna stop them. But i also am not forced to listen to it. Thats very incompatible to the outside world so clash is inevitable imho.

I do feel like we need to debate about the „no platform“. I do think that people should be able to have their nazi bar, as it has always been. Because being able to discuss your views, as vile as one might find them, doesnt mean you can spread them to everyone. Its important for people to get educated instead about every gory detail that comes with fascism. The furcances where millions of people get burned, some alive. For me its similar to people liking to eat human flesh. I find it disgusting but if you put them all on an island, they can eat each other all day.

But please feel free to state your opinion. I‘m eager to learn if there is a solid argument to stamp out fascism and how it is done without having to spy on people for „thought crimes“ like in the book 1984.

You dont even need special nvme‘s. You can buy mid range ones.

Best is if they dont fail together so they should best not be the same batch or have the same age and write amount.

I do highly recommend to have a raid array for any server ssd since they fail unpredicably and without any signs.

I‘m building this for some time now. I run a raid 1 on mechanical disks for file storage and have an ssd for the logic/database stuff. Have bought a second ssd and will put them in a raid as well bc limited lifespan.
