Stopped working for me with a recent docker cli update. That’s how I even found out it’s totally abandoned.

I’m not a big fan of running software that has access to the internet once it’s abandoned like this.

Watchtower hadn’t been updated in like 3 years or something. It’s a dead project.

I came here hoping to read some cool use cases, but so far it’s people doing notifications for services that already provide notifications…

🤣 Equally as dumb was a while back some wifi bed that refused to expand or collapse or something without internet, so people couldn’t sleep on it while the sever was down

I mean I get it, but regulations are sometimes necessary.

Banning smoking indoors for example, you might say “Just don’t go where they smoke indoors!” well yea… Except that shit was everywhere where people were congregating and all you’d do is isolate yourself…

A lot of regulation might sound like “just don’t” but if every kid around your kid has a tablet, and there is no rule against tablets, it’s only your kid who will be an outcast.

I’m in general against too much regulation, but like vaccines, sometimes you have to target a whole group to fight a disease. You alone staying away is not viable.

And all of this comes before we even talk about the MASSIVE disadvantage patents have against the mega corps, from the CONSTANT ads, to the targeted manipulation, it’s not a fair fighting field.

It’s crazy good for something FREE. Like infinitely better than any major crop google apple etc because you KEEP your photos. Anything you upload to the cloud is being mined by them.

The only thing I tell people is that you need a cloud backup.

I have an automated nightly worker that zips all my photos encrypts them with a 32 character password and then uploads it to a bulk storage facility.
