That is good is up to you, as the user. I wouldn’t use their service at all without avoiding those ads, so, it’s not a good “free” service for me.

Of course, but it’s a bit misleading. I thought it might be helpful to add that comment.

SmartTube is for Android, as is NewPipe. You need a Smart TV with Android TV. Other TVs do not have a way out.

Easy, I’ll just switch to… Oh, right, it’s a monopoly, who would have thought they’d offer a shitty service for “free”?

You do you. Good luck.

There are apps without public repos at all. Here’s a report of trackers and permissions the app may ask, but again, you don’t need to grant it more than just network access because is for Reddit.
I can’t give any value to your guarantees. There’s the code, there’s an analysis of trackers and the history of the app. Moreover, I can’t see a concrete reference to your claims. These things, on the other hand, make me feel rather secure about using it behind a VPN as I said, but that’s me.

IDK what personal info could it be sharing. You don’t need to login, it doesn’t ask for permissions and it’s a GPLv3 app. Where did you get that idea?

I use RedReader without an account, connected through a VPN. It’s FOSS, but with these settings, it’s really slow. Okay for text and images, bad for videos.

They alll fail when forever gain growth is the expectation.

Hahaha, who the fuck cares? Will Apple sue me if I write it wrong? Wait a minute…

I do both.

I read almost all of the first chapter out of courtesy, but I could do with some introduction of what this is. The piece doesn’t even have a prologue and you just copypasted a link with no context. What’s this in general?

I’ll take all the AI they throw at me once the governments start taxing the rich appropriately, and these taxes cover for at least the basic needs of everyone. I’m not holding my breath, they always want everything.

These companies have more money in their hands than they can carry, is it too crazy to think they may be somehow buying on public perception? I’m not trying to make a point on this, I don’t have the time, just saying, this kind of thing happens all the time; investing on public opinion is quite cheap for them.

And their telemetry metrics will tell them people overwhelmingly keep the switch on.

Microsoft will break compatibility as soon as they want to, leaving onlyoffice docx users with no option than buying Microsoft Office, eventually.

There is stuff Office 360 or whatever is called to that online Microsoft Office can do just fine from Firefox or Chrome based browsers. But if things get overcomplicated, it’s as good or even worse than Libreoffice at handling xlsx, docx documents.
Even current Office struggles with early Office documents.

Honestly, I’m worried. Current Linux options are expensive and or shitty. IDK if Sailfish is still a thing. I can’t use Apple. If I keep taking good care of my not-so-shitty Xiaomi phone, maybe I have a couple more years until I’m pwned.
PostmarketOS seems promising, though.
Are they in love with it? Did it have a “she” name? Remember the guy in Colombia, full on cocaine, claiming to be the best engineer ever, but still amazed about the AI he created? The one Linus rejected his main contribution to the kernel…?
