Just kinda that guy, ya know?
Fedora KDE Plasma has really been doing it for me. Like Windows, without all the nonsensical bullshit and Microsoft bloat.
Okay, Star Platinum.
Of course. A bike this good demands good riding company. Gonna take some time to learn the feel of it before committing to any super twisty rides, though.
I paid 2500 to buy it off an acquaintance, and I plan to ride a lot of backroads and longer trips.
Bro I know, it’s brutal.
2012 DL650A. Roughly 30K miles, well loved, well maintained.
Yeah I’m sure I could do that, find new forks and fix it up, but if the frame really is damaged, I don’t want to take the risk. It’s worth more to me to take the money and run, especially for a VStrom. I DO love the bike, and if I get a chance down the line, I’ll buy another for day-to-day commuting, but for now, I have to move on.
I actually do have boots like that, but they make it hard to shift (no ankle flexibility whatsoever) so I didn’t wear them that day.
I was wearing riding shoes with higher tops, well above the ankle. Must’ve landed on it funny, but only broke the very tip off the ankle bone. As for my shoulder, no airbag unfortunately. It’s already healing up though, and it wasn’t super damaged to begin with, so I’m not worried.
The shoes in question:
Not dissing the Nouveau folk for their work, I’m dissing Nvidia for being so shit as to force it.
This was me with my 4070. Eventually figured it out, but WOW does Nouveau suck until you get the drivers working. Still, loving Fedora 42 more than Windows 10, so I’m not going back.
I’ll shit your pants right now 👀👀👀
Thanks, champ.
Damaged. Probably runs, but I’m not gonna try it. Let the shop sort it out.
You got out alive and intact, call that a win and move on. More rides to be had!
Didn’t shit my pants lmfao, they cut them off me.
ATGATT, my beloved.
I will say we were going fast for the road. It was marked 30, we were going 40-50. Would’ve been fine had there been more of a shoulder. Unfortunately, being in rural Virginia, the transition from Road to Gravel was immediate. I’m absolutely a dumbass for going that fast on that road, but you live and you learn.
Damn right they do. I got out with no head damage despite rolling and sliding 50 feet because I had a good helmet. Gonna need a replacement now, along with new pants, but it’s a big part of why I survived.
Lmao
