I’m actually amazed no one has made an open source dating app it seems like such an obvious idea. You can even add federation to it so you could choose the interface you liked the best.
I think the problem there is moderation. Who is going to do the work of blocking/banning 1000 creepy messages and dick pics per minute on an open platform?
I don’t really use dating sites but as far as I understand it wouldn’t a personal block just solve the problem. I don’t think you can message people unless they match with you right so if you unmatch with them they’re essentially blocked and they can’t contact you again on another account because you would have to match with them on that other account.
